My Marinara Sauce

A very good basic marina and pizza sauce.

Jim’s Marina Sauce

Simple but good as a basic marina or a pizza sauce

Equipment

  • Food Processor

Ingredients
  

Group 1

  • 2 14.5 oz cans Stewed Tomatoes
  • 1 6 oz can Tomato paste
  • 4 tbls Chopped Fresh Parsley
  • 2 Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Dried Basil
  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper to taste

Group 2

  • 6 tbls Olive Oil
  • 1/3 cup Onion, finely diced

Group 3

  • 1/2 cup White wine
  • 1/4 tsp White Sugar If needed, to cut the acid from the tomatoes

Instructions
 

  • In a food processor, add the group 1 ingredients, and blend until smooth
  • In a large skillet, sauté the onions in the olive oil for 2 minutes
  • Add the group 1 results and the white wine
  • Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally – Add the sugar if needed
  • If using for pizza sauce, use a hand blender to break up the onions and make it smoother
